Dry Skin? Nah. Let's Avoid It
It's not officially Winter just yet, but the temps are definitely dropping which leads to more issues with dry skin.
I use to HATE the winter time years ago before I started using natural products. My skin would get soooo dry which led to irritation/scratching resulting in scars that drove me crazy. Anyone else have/had this issue?
Let's protect our skin this winter by implementing a few easy tips
Drink water!!! I know we prefer hot beverages this time of the year to warm our body, (I'm guilty of this. I love hot cocoa!) but we need to get in at least 8 cups of water every day. We must hydrate from the inside out. Try warm water with lemon if you must have something warm.
Avoid taking long super hot baths/showers. Hot water temps are not kind to our skin. It strips away oils from the skin. Instead, aim for moderate warm temps and cut the time down.
Moisturize! Moisturize! Moisturize! Every morning and every night Apply oil/butter based moisturizers immediately after taking baths/showers to lock in the moisture. If you're not moisturizing the skin after cleansing your body, you're screaming "I want dry skin!"
Exfoliate. Exfoliate one a week. Shed away those dead cells so that moisture can get inside your new skin cells underneath and leave you with a glow.
